As a therapist, I strive to create an environment that encourages growth and healing. Issues such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, abuse, trauma, domestic violence, anger, relationship and identity crisis leave one feeling depressed and alone. Working closely with individuals, couples, and families, together we will face life’s struggles.
My experience as a family therapist has provided me with extensive opportunity to work with families and children in the foster care system, or those families at risk of children being removed from the home. Additionally, working as a mental health professional in hospital emergency rooms has provided hands on crisis intervention with individuals facing extreme emotional situations.
I believe faith and spirituality plays a major role in the healing process. I value all faiths and beliefs, understanding the role they play in our everyday lives; however, at no time will I impose my beliefs and values into the therapeutic setting.
Each client presents a unique opportunity to personalize the therapeutic process. I have been trained in many counseling models and techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, and Reality Therapy. I continue to seek out new and empowering ways to meet the needs of each client to facilitate the healing process.
Through the trials of life, the path to recovery may feel isolating and daunting. By seeking out help, I applaud you for taking the first step. I look forward to walking beside you as we work towards resolution, healing, and internal peace.
